Teich Residence - Solid Core Home - Clear Lake, MN

This home was built with the Arvola Homes' Structural Insulated Panel (SIP) wall system, also called solid core.  Along with the other building processes Arvola Homes uses, this home is extremely air tight and energy efficient.

The home was tested by an ENERGY STAR rater to confirm the energy efficiency.  Energy efficiency levels are displayed by the HERS Index (Home Energy Rating System) that you see to the right.  What the numbers mean:

0 - Zero Energy Homes produce as much energy as they use
100 - Homes built to code should be at this level
136 - Studies show average home built today is actually at this level
80 - Home needs to be at or below this level to be ENERGY STAR qualified
48 - Arvola Homes' Clear Lake house

Each point decrease on the HERS Index correlates to a 1% increase in energy efficiency.  At 48 the Arvola Homes' house is 52% more energy efficient than homes built to code.  A lot more than that compared to the average home built today as well as existing homes.

What would you do with the money you would save if your home was over 50% more energy efficient?  Learn more about
SIPs, ENERGY STAR or green building.
